Marla Zide graduated from Goucher College in 1997 before receiving her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2001 with a concentration in family law, where she spent two semesters participating in the Family Law Clinic.
While in law school, Ms. Zide worked at the Maryland Legal Service Network, connecting different legal service providers throughout the state while assisting with the development of the People’s Law Library.
Upon joining the Maryland Bar in 2001, Ms. Zide further concentrated on family law by joining the YWCA of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County, where she represented parties in Protective Order hearings. Since founding her firm, the Law Offices of Marla Zide, LLC, Ms. Zide represents parents, grandparents, children, and third-party clients who require more than a family attorney but an advocate for their rights and overall legal needs.
Ms. Zide’s practice areas include divorce, separation, child support, child custody, alimony, family support, adoption, and same-sex family law. She also represents clients in contempt and enforcement cases, protective and peace orders, prenuptial agreements, wills and estates, criminal defense, and bankruptcy.
She is a current member of the local Anne Arundel County Bar Association, the Maryland State Bar Association, and the Women’s State Bar Association, and was the former chair of the Young Lawyers Section of the Maryland State Bar Association.
Mr. Zide has been named to the Top 50 Women Maryland Super Lawyers List and the Top 100 Maryland Super Lawyers List for 2019. She is also the recipient of the David Hortzberg Award for nine consecutive years and was named to the Super Lawyers list for 2019 for her seventh straight year.
Marla has been an extremely patient legal representative for me and my children for many years. She always tells you how it is and she always is honest which makes her more than a lawyer but w trustworthy person at the least.
